Title

A Virtual Presentation

Gallery hours Thursday-Saturday 12-6 pm and by appointment

Theodore is pleased to present Onomatopoeia, a virtual presentation of a selection of work by gallery favorite and secret evil genius Chris Moss.

Chris Moss uses the limited vocabulary of a simple avatar such as :-) to create an ongoing series of small scale paintings that circle around the visual construct of a face, without clear identity but with strong suggested personality. Moss employs color, texture, medium, sculptural relief to imply mood and character. Each painting is absolutely unique, like a fingerprint, but is one of a growing population of painterly creatures.

Christopher Moss was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and grew up in rural northeastern Pennsylvania. He received his MFA from CUNY Brooklyn College in 2006. Moss has had solo exhibitions at Theodore, Brooklyn in 2014 and 2016. His work has received critical attention from New York Magazine, Two Coats of Paint, Art Papers, and the L Magazine, among others.

He lives and works in Savannah, Georgia.
